Where I Love to Eat and Drink
On these pages I collect all the reasons why I love Lanzarote. This is by no means a full list nor is it a guide to Lanzarote. Just some gems I want to share or tips that I wanna give you to make your holiday on this magical island unforgettable.

Costa Teguise & Around
La Otra Pizzeria
A pizza place known all over the island. One of the best pizza places. Seriously good as well as their pasta in a Parmesan wheel or the empanada's to start with.
Perfect take aways as well. Close by my apartment.
Bon Bon cafe
a very nice breakfast /lunch type of place with a great outdoor space. Think healthy salads or burgers, brunch and smoothies.
A smashed avocado on toast kinda place.
Mi Piace
Just good food and nice service. Something for everyone. Always space outside and inside. They sometimes, I thik mainly weekends, have live music outside
Bar Moon
Tucked away in a small centro commercial, a family owned place, very authentic, friendly and all the typical local dishes you can imagine.
Leo´s Burgers
Famous burgers, they are really good! Was voted best burgers in the Canaries. The queue is worth it and you can have a drink while you wait. Lately I've noticed there isn't a queue anymore and the burgers are still delicioso!
La Tabla
The place to be for tapas as we know them and so do lots of people, Busy but worth it.
El Bocadito
If you only go to one restaurant, this is the one you should go to. Spanish all the way! Meat lovers and Fish lovers will be in heaven here. The croquettes as a starter are to die for.
I always go for the Iberico Porc. Had the Chipirones as a starter once and they were the best I ever had!
Tick Tock Bar
I keep coming back here for the « cheap » drinks. If you want a drink in the Pueblo Marinero this one is your best bet, also for people watching. I love the Cava Sangria and the nachos.
Habana 6
Meat lovers…a great option when in the Pueblo Marinero. Nice setting both inside and outside.
El rincón simple gastro bar
Dinner, drinks, easy going. Great staff. My favourite around the Pueblo Marinero. Spanish fusion mix of tapa style and regular dishes.
Waffle Shop Boys - A waffle a day ...
My good friends from Belgium. Best waffle place by far. The guys are a delight, go and visit them. They also have a ton of recommendations for Lanzarote.
While you are at it, grab a nice Belgian beer.
Cafe Damien - Coffee, cake and bread
The best bakery here for both bread and pastries, there are 2 of them, one by the Cuchara Car Park and the other one the Avenida del Mar by the Playa Bastian apartments
Anti Xixona Ice Cream
The best Ice Cream, a chain you will find across the island.
Cactus Surf and Coffee
Coffee with a view , relaxed friendly and a small but good selection of cakes and empanadas
Restaurante El Navarro
Fine dining! Book in advance. Delicious
Divine India
True to its name
My favourite Indian in Costa Teguise. Super friendly and great Indian food.
Casa Tomas
Authentic Spanish fish, great food. Lovely location but if this is full you’re stuck. Sunday is the busiest day.

Tasca la Raspa - Arrecife
Great view of San Gines in Arrecife, authentic tapas and a lovely atmosphere in the evening. Authenic Lanzarote
Long Beach Club - Puerto Del Carmen
Cocktails and views. Haven’t eaten here yet just came for cocktails with a view and away from the crowds
Serenity Restaurant - Puerto Del Carmen
Very nice restaurant. Fine dining experience and great views.Have an aperitif on the rooftop
Cafe La Ola - Puerto Del Carmen
Food is good, great atmosphere, view and vibe is fantastic. A place to celebrate and have a long dinner. Often music in the evenings.
Bar La Caña - Puerto Del Carmen
Great little spot a bit away from the crowds and slightly more authentic
El Pescador - Playa Quemada
Come here for fish and for the view, it's a large very spanish restaurant. All the classics and most of them from the sea
Amêndoa Restaurant - La Santa
This is Lucindas (Lucy) best restaurant. It's fine dining style and one of the best restaurant around. Tell her Joaquin from Dublin sent you 😂
Ana Viciosa - La Santa
Lucindas latest restaurant. Loved the pineapple dessert!
El Chupadero - La Geria
I shouldn't be sharing this as it was a hidden gem, thanks to the internet not so hidden anymore. This place does wine and tapas. It's a small bodega, beautiful and stylish, the terrace has a view on the volcanies and it's absolutely stunning at sunset. A sunset over the volcanoes, it doesn't get any better.
Arrive at least an hour before sunset to get a seat with a view, get in the mood and relax.

The cocktails and the food are amazing. The setting is beautiful. A hidden gem
Worth the trip
La Cueva de LagOmar - Nazareth
So this is the bar of the Lagomar house, it's a different entrance and you don't get access to the whole house but you get a stunning experience sipping cocktails in this extraordinary work of architecture. Forget the museum just come here for a cocktail. Check them out on the web to know what's on. Restaurant is worth it as well. Gorgeous Instagram perfect setting

Beaches I can't get enough of
Playa Famara
A must see beach even when it's not beach weather you can just walk along the beach for kilometers. It's great for swimming as it's very shallow, it has generally stronger waves that can be fun and because it's shallow it's safer. Great to watch surfing as it's the most popular beach for surfing. It's picture perfect and the sunset is as romantic and beautiful as it gets.
Combine it with a seafood lunch or dinner in Famara or go to Soo and have dinner and/or drinks in Moonsoo, a perfect hidden gem. Think chill holiday vibes and delicious food, amazing cocktails and really good coffee and cakes.
Markets where I would buy things
Haria - Saturday
Happening in the centre of Haria, a smaller market, mainly local crafts and food. It's my favourite market by far.
Very cute and cosy and some really nice crafts.
It's a lovely town with some great places for drinks and food as well as some hikes and sights.
You need a car to get there or plan your bus ride well
Costa Teguise - Pueblo Marinere
Wednesday and Friday from 5pm
Small market on the square with a mix of local crafts and non-food products.
Nice atmosphere.
Walks I Always Come Back To
Paseo Maritimo de Costa Teguise - Promenade walk
Costa Teguise has a long and scenic coastal promenade stretching from the Residencial Real de la Mareta in the south to Los Ancones in the North of Costa Teguise. It connects major local beaches like Playa de las Cucharas, Playa Bastián, and Playa del Jablillo, and forms part of a massive 26-kilometer pedestrian and cycling path linking Costa Teguise all the way down to Puerto del Carmen via Arrecife and Playa Honda
Arrecife - Puerto Del Carmen and Puerto Calero - Public transport and walking
Take bus number 3 to Puerto Del Carmen
You can visit Arrecide or PDC first or afterwards.
Walk from PDC along the coast to Puerto Calero. It's a lovely coastal walk with great views.
From Puerto Calero you can take the Boat taxi back to PDC or take the walk back.
The walk between the two towns is really stunning with some great views.

Cycling Routes I do over and over
Cycle from Costa Teguise to Puerto Del Carmen via Arrecife and Playa Honda
Rent a bike, electric if you wish. Cycle along Europes longest segregated cycle lane all along the coast, a mostly separated cycle lane and fairly flat.
Great day out, level of effort is minimal.
Costa Teguise to Charco Del Palo or Arieta and visit the
Cactus Garden
Great day out and plenty of different options of things to do.
The route is at times uphill. Perfect terrain if you just take the roads

The South West - nature at its most fierce!
Drive down to El Golfo, a small town where you can have lunch, perfect if you are into seafood.
Los Herevideros, the sea at her wildest nature at it's fiercest. A unique place. You can walk around and watch the waves smash agaist the rocks. Upclose and still safe

Playa de Los Clicos
Visit the Salinas del Janubio
Have a stop in Yaiza for coffee
Have a Volcanic Day (with or without wine)!
Drive down to the National Park, combine it with visits to the wineries.
Volcan el Cuervo (easy walk around)
Pico de la Caldera Blanca (a bit more of a challenging walk)
Visitor Centre of the Parque National
Drive along the LZ30 and the LZ56
Along the LZ67 you have many wineries that you can visit and have a glass of wine
Get to know Cesar Manrique - a visionary architect!
Lanzarote artist, sculptor, architect and nature activist. Probably the single most important person that made Lanzarote what it is today.

Fundación César Manrique (best place to start and get to know him)
Jardin de Cactus (you will become a cactus expert, probably the most touristy)
Jameos del Agua (also check if there is a cultural event on, well worth it)
Mirador del Rio (my favourite, the most beautiful)
International Museum of Contemporary Arts in the Castillo de San José, Arrecife
Casa de Manrique (Haria)...if you can't get enough

La Graciosa
Take the ferry from Orzola to La Graciosa
You can walk or cycle to Playa de La Conchas, it's breathtakingly beautiful
Walk or take a taxi to Playa Amarillo, i's amazing
The village La Caletta is very small but cute.
You could opt to stay overnight, it's peaceful and very grounding.
You can rent a bike to get to the other side of the island, they are all the same price but the 2 that are at the seafront have crap bikes, rent one from a couple of streets away from the seafront.
Once you leave the harbour there are no shops, cafe's ...nothing... so bring water and food.
Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura is very different to Lanzarote, you can easily vist the north of the island on a daytrip.
Take the ferry from Playa Blanca, with or without your car. You could also rent a bike once you get to Fuerte
